The Blanket

Worthy & Unworthy Holocausts

Chris Fogarty • 2 February 2004

  1. Never forget the Nazi Holocaust; while
  2. Never learning the facts of its own, Irish, Holocaust?

See www.irishholocaust.org to learn which Brit reg't starved your relatives.

First use of "Holocaust" for the Nazi one was in the mid-1960s. First use of it for 1845-50 Ireland was in 1847 (Cork Examiner) and about 1898 (Michael Davitt's published works).
