The Blanket

The Blanket - A Journal of Protest & Dissent
Letter to the Blanket

Dear Sir,

Please allow me through your website to extend my sincere thanks to The Blanket and your readers for the support shown to my family and I, over the last number of years, and in particular the lead up to and during the trial, it was greatly appreciated.

I wish to say a special thanks to Anthony McIntyre who is a beacon of light through these dark days of censorship and denial of freedom of speech in Ireland.

The Blanket has given a fair and balanced view to its readership and has afforded a platform to all who wish to express their opinions without fear or prejudice. It is a fine example of a Republican journal, offering equality, freedom of speech and respecting diversity.

Over the past number of years Pro-British elements of the media have conducted and continued with one of the most vicious vilification campaigns against myself, and my wife Bernadette. It was obvious this campaign was MI5 orchestrated. However, it was outlets like The Blanket who helped to counteract the inaccurate and mischievous reports helping to expose them for what they were.

Once again, many thanks.

Yours sincerely,

Michael McKevitt

All censorships exist to prevent any one from challenging current conceptions and existing institutions. All progress is initiated by challenging current conceptions, and executed by supplanting existing institutions. Consequently the first condition of progress is the removal of censorships.
