Raid at McIntyre Home

As long as I don't write about the government, religion, politics, and other institutions, I am free to print anything.
Pierre-Augustin Beaumarchais

July 20, 2003

On the evening of Friday, July 4th, in a large security operation involving 33 jeeps and over a hundred officers, the home of Anthony and Carrie McIntyre was raided by the PSNI. 4 search teams spent almost 3 hours in their home, confiscating computer equipment, a digital camera, mobile phones. The raid was related to their reporting of the protest at Dundonald House on Wednesday, 2 July. The Blanket will resume full publication as soon as possible.

We would like to thank our friend Kevin McQuillan for his generosity in sharing his computer so that The Blanket could resume publication.

Donations to help purchase a replacement computer for the one that was confiscated by the PSNI are welcome. Checks or International Money Orders made out to "The Blanket" can be sent to:

"As a rule, dictatorships guarantee safe streets and terror of the doorbell. In democracy the streets may be unsafe after dark, but the most likely visitor in the early hours will be the milkman."
